The mission of the Maa Bharti P.G. College of Chemistry is to advance the chemical sciences through the education of undergraduate students by providing them with quality classroom, research and service opportunities. With a high standard for excellence in all three areas the department will produce students who are knowledgeable in chemistry and can think critically.
We value communication and analytical skills, and field work, and, in keeping with the larger Mission of the Maa Bharti P.G.College. The diverse interests and skills of Faculty in our Department provide unique and dynamic opportunities that are becoming increasingly difficult to find in many larger university settings. In addition to their course-work, undergraduate students who show interest in research may gain work experience in prominent research laboratories, providing a unique introduction to, and an early fostering of, scientific skills that will serve them well as they prepare for Graduate School and/or the demands of a professional career.
In support of our mission the Chemistry Department faculty members strive to:
1- Act as mentors to undergraduates P.G. and research scholars through advising them in research.
2- Teach students the value of cross-disciplinary thinking by providing them with educational and research opportunities between chemistry and other fields of study.
3- Encourage community engagement by providing students with service-learning and community-based research opportunities.
4- Provide high quality academic advising for all majors.
5- Encourage students to value diversity and to develop a global perspective through international experiences in chemistry.
